Stephen Quong (Sanskrit name: Umananda) has studied and practiced astrology in both India and America since 1970. He was the only American Vedic Astrologer personally nominated by the late Dr. B.V. Raman as a Life Fellow of the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences, as well as being awarded by the Executive Committee of the Council the honorary titles of Jyotisha Kovida and Jyotisha Vachaspati. On 5 August 2012 he was awarded the honorary title of Jyotisha Mahasagara by the Raman & Rajeswari Research Foundation, based in Bangalore, India.
